Income Tax Income Tax We recorded an income tax (expense) benefit of approximately $7 million and $(49) million for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2024, compared to a $5 million and $5 million income tax (expense) benefit in the three and nine months ended September 30, 2023. For the three and nine months ended September 30, 2024 and 2023, our income tax (expense) benefit was determined using the federal tax rate of 21%, and combined state tax rates, net of federal benefit, of approximately 4% for 2024 and 3% for 2023.
